Bill Cutler is terrible at walking a family that lives out of state through a burial. It's not every day that someone dies for me and I've never had to coordinate something like this. I reached out to this company because we used them when my mother passed. I wanted someone to walk me through what I needed to do, all the details and the cost without me pulling it out of him. Instead of giving me precise details I got ballpark figures and condecension. I contacted them the day after my father died to figure out my father's wishes because they had those on file. Then called them back 5 days later to book the space for the service and he said something about me not calling for weeks! I think I know how long it's been since my father died thank you very much.
The reason I have it at 2 stars and not just one. The other people at the funeral home were very forthcoming with information and helpful when I could get them to talk to me. When we showed up for the service the facilities are nice, the attendant was accommodating and helped us get a few unexpected items placed.
Also when you call don't expect to be able to talk to anyone, expect to get called back at their convenience. Expect when you try to ask for a different funeral coordinator as Bill just wasnt doing it for me to be put on the phone with him, have to tell him directly that your are unhappy, then have him not speak to you the rest of the time prior to your service. Expect to not get told the prices for things prior to the end of your service and for things to be hundreds of dollars more than expected.
They were so awesome with my family they prayed woth several people at the casket it was amazing
I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the professionalism of Bill Cutler and the staff at Heafey. My mother passed away in Kansas, and we needed to have her transported to Omaha so she could be buried with my dad. I had done quite a bit of research after hearing an NPR story. Heafey charges very reasonable prices compared to other funeral homes in the Omaha area. Bill was very helpful.
We are planning for funeral expenses for my mother. Bill Cutler has been very helpful, courteous and considerate of our time and resources. This funeral home has just reopened its doors the beginning of Oct 2017 and we toured around a bit. Not surprisingly the new facility is very beautiful.
They recently had a fire though so we will see how well they rebuild.
We've been to a few funerals here and they are set up very nicely to recieve family and friends. It's a centrally located place and easy access to parking.
