Rated 2 rather than 1 star for the warm service when speaking directly to the groomer by phone. She fit me in for last minute appointment on a busy day.
Some of the comments on here are dramatized a bit. Just a tad.
If you are reading my comment then ask yourself. Why are there no pictures of the pestilence and disease and dead flesh eating animals posted here? It's easy to add pictures. Where are the pictures... were they taken down? Why didn't they take out the comments too then?
Excellent experience with the staff. Bought a Brussels Griffon here that experienced some minor problems with low blood sugars after taking him home. after getting frustrated with our vet, the staff here took Reese back and did a better job of getting him healthy again! Love this place and know they care about their animals
this place is disgusting !! the animals are living in pure filth, in tiny cages where they can’t move well , on grated floors and mind you the cages go all the way to the ceiling so if an employee was going to open the cage (i doubt it because they’re rude) the puppies could fall out and hurt the animals!! they don’t have food nor water in sight. and for toys they have water bottles!! they have a white bird sitting out that is missing its feathers on its neck and chest from stress. it’s squeaks all the time out in pain. they have tiny cages in the middle of the store that they have a bunch of birds in and don’t some of the birds have clipped back ends so they can’t fly and they squeak!! this is the worst most disgusting place. the dogs are rolling in their own feces , the birds are sick , the cats look lethargic and mind you they have cats in a larger hamster cage!! the staff workers are rude and distasteful.
The people that work here are decent people trying to make a living.
I've never seen a dead animal in the store. Been there a dozen times over the last 4 years. Never seen too many animals in 1 cage before either.
Then she snapped at me to "not let her get back there!" referring to my golden retriever who was fully restrained on a 6 foot leash (with three feet of slack!) and calmly sniffing the check out counter essentially where you would stand to check out. I responded that I was not "letting her get back there", we were both just existing in a well trafficked, public area of the store while we tried to figure out where to go. Cue some aggressive barking and snarling from some territorial (though cute!) dogs from behind the counter. My dog began to shake and cower with her legs between her legs before we even entered to grooming area. It was only then that the cashier tried to greet my dog or offer any kind words. I just had to leave. I'm all about bringing your dog to work, however if that territorial they should be kept in an enclosed area +/- signs warning to give wide berth. This would reduce the stress levels for all parties.
With the overwhelmingly negative reviews of Petsrus online, it is incredible the business is still operational. As one reviewer said "who sells puppies anymore?". No need to support a business that profits on puppy mills AND straight up mean to customers to boot.
I know there are a lot of puppy mill haters out there. But get over it. Would I buy a dog here? No, way too expensive, but I'm a cheap person and would rather get a free dog. Should others buy dogs here? I don't know, that's there own thing.
This negative review is mainly reflect of the horrifically customer service experience that I had in the PetsRUs store that houses the grooming salon. I ultimately canceled the appointment and walked out. When I walked in and asked where the groomer was, the clerk (possibly the owner?) stared at me rudely like I was speaking a foreign language. Apparently she was incredulous that I had an afternoon appointment (I did) as they usually just do mornings. Even if was there without appointment, why not just explain and facilitate rather than giving stink eye?
The people here are rude and the dogs and animals are kept in places where they cant even be happy. The dogs have no choice but to roll around in their own poop.
I've read the comments about dead animals and too many in 1 cage and expired food.
